What resolution and colour space should the transmitted print data have?

We have compiled the most important information on the topics of colour space and resolution below so that you can send us your print data correctly.

Colour space:

• In digital printing, we produce all products in the CMYK colour space. RGB data that may be transmitted will not be converted into the CMYK colour space in a colour-binding manner. We therefore recommend that you always create your print data in CMYK colour mode. Otherwise, all data (e.g. RGB or spot colours) will be automatically converted into CMYK. The embedded colour profiles will be discarded, which will result in colour shifts.
• Please do not use a mixed colour (4c) for black text, but create black text with 100% black in the K channel.
• Please note the following for spot colours: to avoid uneven and blotchy areas, the areas where another process colour (CMYK) lies over the spot colour must be created as a cut-out and not as an overprint.

Auflösung:

Please always create pixel data at a resolution of 300 dpi in the original scale.
We require the following resolutions to produce your printed products in the best quality:

• Photos, images and graphics 300 dpi
• greyscale and colour images 300 dpi
• Line art 1,200 dpi
• Posters 200 dpi

In general, the higher the resolution, the better the print quality!
